Equipment List


PISTOL COURSES:
  1. Eye and Ear Protection designed for shooting
  2. Brimmed, or Boonie Cap
  3. Six Pocket Field Pants
  4. Boots
  5. Long Sleeve  Shirt
  6. 1.5 inch web belt, or stiff leather belt ( must fit belt loops in field pants )
  7. Friction Mag Pouch designed for your firearms magazines ( ex. see Blade-Tech products ). No snaps, flaps, or straps
  8. Friction Holster designed specifically for your firearm (ex. see Blade-Tech Holsters). No snaps, flaps or straps
  9. Your Gun and at least three magazines designed specifically for your firearm
  10. Ammo - 250 rounds for CCW, 550 rounds for BHT, 1500 rounds for any CTHT course.
  11. CCW and BHT only, 50 additional rounds for each gun you wish to place on your permit
  12. Six dummy rounds for your main training handgun ( ex see Snap Caps products ).
  13. Pen and Paper
  14. 1 gallon of water
  15. Lunch
  16. Long Jacket  or Shirt which covers the waist down to mid thigh ( for concealment training )
  17. Mole skin ,medical tape and bandages ( for blisters and small cuts ).
  18. OWNERS MANUAL for your primary training handgun.
  19. Elbow and Knee pads
  20. Gun Bag or Gear Bag for your firearm and assessories
  21. Tactical Flashlight ( ex. Sure Fire products ).
  22. Cell Phone ( for emergencies )
Tactical / CCW Handgun Requirements
  1. Name Manufactured  Semi-Automatic Pistol or Double Action Revolver ( ex. Smith, Colt, Springfield, Sig )
  2. 3 - 5 inch barrel
  3. Rugged Construction / Rugged Sights not easily damaged by abuse
  4. 9mm or greater Caliber
  5. Comfortable fit to the shooters' hand ( natural point of aim easy to obtain with good grip )
  6. Sufficient weight to control recoil and comfortable to shoot
  7. 3-5 lbs single action pull for semi-autos
  8. 6-12 lbs pull for double action revolvers and D.A. auto's.
  9. Night Sights preferable.
PISTOLS NOT ALLOWED:
  1. Calibers less than 9mm
  2. Single Action Revolvers ( Cowboy Guns )
  3. Derringers
  4. Cheap, Poorly Manufactured, or Broken Firearms
  5. Barrels less than 2 inches ( for primary training, Snubbes OK as an additional gun on permit )
My Pistol ( Example of a good handgun )
  1. Colt Series 70 Model ( 1911-A1 ) name manufactured
  2. .45 ACP caliber ( large caliber )
  3. 5 inch barrel ( good sight radius and weight )
  4. 4 lbs trigger pull ( near combat minimum of 3 lbs )
  5. Novak fixed sight (rear) gold bead front post ( dim light sight )






Rifle Courses: ( Close Quarter )
  1. Same equipment as above for the Pistol Classes, except round count for pistol. ( pistols required for rifle training )
  2. Drop pouches or load bearing equipment designed for your gear and magazines.
  3. At least two spare rifle magazines
  4. Optical sights are allowed
  5. Semi-automatic / Full-automatic magazine fed rifle. (If full-auto, a copy of BATFE paper work MUST accompany the gun)
  6. Round count for the pistol, 200 rounds.
  7. Round count for the rifle depends upon course, ( BRT 800, CQRT I, 1200, CQRT II 1200 ). Special courses vary.
